The perfect location
Kardamyli is one of the oldest settlements in the Peloponnese with its current name being mentioned in the Iliad, the epic poem written by Homer.
More recently it was the home of Patrick Leigh Fermor – famous author and revered in Greece as a hero of the Second World War.
His friend Bruce Chatwin wrote his iconic book The Songlines in Kalamitsi and his ashes are scattered above the town.
Located less than an hour south of Kalamata and approximately four hours south west of Athens – Kardamyli is easily accessible by car (the motorway drive from Athens is stunning) and both Kalamata and Athens have regular flights to and from many European destinations during the summer season.
